Meet Dr. Covalt

JOHN COVALT, DDS

I have had a deep connection with dentistry since the time I was born. Growing up, my mom worked as a dental office manager and still does to this day. Because of this I was able to feel comfortable in a dentist’s office early in life, which many people cannot relate to! With this in mind, I work to make every patient feel comfortable in the dental chair. I strive to educate every patient so that they can make choices about their oral health with certainty and leave the office with assurance that they made the right decision. Building confidence in patients and trust with patients ensures that I can deliver the best dental care that we decide is right.

EDUCATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

I was born and raised in the small Texas panhandle town of Pampa. There I began to recognize my interest in dentistry at an early age. After Highschool, I was accepted into the Dental Early Admissions Program at Abilene Christian University and graduated High Honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. I attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental school where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. There I served as President of the dental Fraternity, Xi Psi Phi, as well as the Student Intramural Representative.
Before moving to Bend, I practiced dentistry in Austin, Texas. I worked with many colleagues in a group practice which allowed me to develop better skills and practices that I brought with me to Oregon. I am excited to start a new adventure here with the ADG team and continue to provide the best care possible, while still learning and applying new technologies and ideas for an even better dental experience.
My Accreditations and Certifications include Basic Cardiac Life Support, Western Regional Examination Board Certified, and Invisalign certification. I am also a member of the ADA, ODA, and the AGD.

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

I moved to Bend with my Beautiful wife Megan and our 3 dogs, Murphy, Zeus, and Cobalt. We were lucky enough to visit Bend just before the Covid-19 lock down and moved here soon after, so we are ready to explore and see all of Central Oregon’s hidden gems. We enjoy the outdoors and will be hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, and fishing everywhere we can. You may also see us out supporting all of the local restaurants and breweries that reside in Bend. We cannot wait to become involved in this great community and give back when and where we can.
